The Board of Directors oversees all of the activities of the CFSE Advisory Board, in support of its mission to improve the skills and formally establish the competency of safety system engineers in the process, manufacturing and hardware/software development industries. The board members’ primary work is to maintain application and examination procedures and initiate improvements to the CFSE/CFSP programs in the different disciplines. It is also responsible for maintaining the organization’s strong public image, through press release updates and advocacy with various issues relating to its mission. Since the Advisory Board is nonprofit and volunteer driven, members’ duties also include soliciting support from companies and individuals to serve on the various CFSE committees. Directors are nominated and approved by majority vote of the existing BoD to serve for 3 years, with the possibility of reappointment depending on circumstances.
